NASA and Intelligent Disobedience
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, is managed by California Institute of Technology. It is responsible for the non-human (robotic) space flights in our solar system and for advancing the earth sciences. It is an extraordinary collection of highly educated, motivated and diverse professionals.
I was invited to conduct workshops on my recent book, Intelligent Disobedience: Doing Right When What You Are Told To Do Is Wrong, as it applies to the need for candid input from every team member to ensure mission success.
In the photo I am standing under a banner celebrating the 40th anniversary of the twin Voyager 1 and 2 space craft, which completed their missions of exploring Saturn and Jupiter and now are the first human craft to be voyaging beyond our solar system in interstellar space. It is awesome that they are still sending back information from vast distances beyond Pluto.
